I haven't had a period for about 6 months now, and before that my last period was 4 months. I have also experienced hair loss, when i run my hands through my hair clumps of hair comes out, and my hair is all over my clothes. I was wondering if there was a link between the two, and if it's anything to worry about?Hair loss and irregular periods-15 year old female?
It could be loads of things. Firstly just to check - are you sexually active and have you done a test? Otherwise its perfectly normal for periods to be irregular at that age - when did you start? I found it took 7 years for them to settle. They can also be highly effected by stress - as can hair loss. Do you have exams coming perhaps? Even if you don't feel v stressed it could be your body telling you you are. Oh and worrying about hair loss doesn't help as you just get more stressed. It is normal to lose over 100 hairs a day. Take some Kelp and eat healthy - all your vitamins, protein and oils - (its really good for your hair) and go see your doc if you want to put your mind at ease. Also you could consider taking the pill to get your periods more regular.

It's quite normal that your period should be irregular at that age, but yours is far more extreme than I expected, so it would be best that you go and see a doctor about it. I'm not sure whether the hair loss is linked to it, but your body needs more nutrients while you are on your period because of all the blood loss, so I would say at least eat more Iron rich foods and generally more nutrients. But definately go and see a doctor about this.
Good luck. I hope it's not serious.
there will be a link between them, are you eating good? as this happens to alot of people that are anorexic.you do need to get to see your gp without a doubt. what ever the problem is it needs to be checked out by a doctor for sure, do not ignore your symptoms also do not be embarrassed, lots of people your age and upwards suffer from these symptoms. i wish you well .
you need to go to the doctor. are you anemic? irregular periods are normal at your age, but since you haven't had one in 6 months, you should get checked out. it could be hormones.
hmmm... the hair loss is the serious part. dont worry about your periods. it is normal for them to be irregular for the first few years after you get them. the hair loss on the other hand?
you really must see a doctor.
you shouldnt be asking people here you should go to the doctors already, the irregular periods dont sound serious but the hair loss, please get checked out
Are you eating a healthy diet, i don't want to accuse you of anything but they can be signs of anorexia.
Are you sure you are eating properly?
Other than this it could be hormonal.
Why haven't you made an appointment to see your doctor?
go to the doctor
go doctors
