Which hair loss supplement(s) should i start with? 24yo female?

hi,

i've had the tests at the doctor and there's nothin up with my bloods but my hair has been thinning for some time now (to the extent that I've had it all cut short and blonde - scalp less noticeable!) and also doesn't seem to be growing much..about 3mm per week. I think it was due to stress and illness at the end of last year, however i do 'mess' with it alot (dye, change style, rub scalp when stressed, not much heat styling though).

i read on the web about different supplements and at-home treatments, so currently I'm taking:

sea kelp

silica

selenium

biotin

MSM

and doing scalp massage and eating plenty of protein, but i worry that i might not benefit from any of these supplements if i overload my body by taking them all together.

any ideas which is a sure fire best bet to try first? suggestions greatly appreciated...i'll be gutted if it doesn't sort itself out!

I lost 70% of my hair 2 years ago, i used SILICA and i was happy i did i recomend it to anyone that had hair loss!!

Sea Kelp is ok to use 2, but silica was the best for me! i noticed a difference within 3 weeks.

Goodluck, i no its hard (been there myself)

Im still taking them even now, just to keep the ingrediants that my hair needs, :O)Which hair loss supplement(s) should i start with? 24yo female?
Try and find a shampoo and conditioner with Rosemary oil in it. It is excellent for hair. Weleda do a good hair product called rosemary hair lotion. I know an eldery man who swears by it and has amazing full hair.

Also, without prying, if you are on the contraceptive coil, there is alot of anecdotal evidence on the internet saying this causes hair loss.

Regarding the supplements, all are good for hair loss especially the silicia.
I would try biotin first. one thnig you said about rubbing your hair when stressed. Stress is a major cause of hair loss and if you are stressed this will cause you to lose hair as well. Take steps to reduce stress if you do suffer from it.

there are hair supplements you can take as well to prevent hair loss that contain most of what you described above.

the other thing I would do is to look at your diet but you already said you are taking lots of protein so I guess you are on a good diet.
This happened to me a few years ago when I was going through a lot of stress. I went to the doctor and they found nothing wrong me with and just told me it was natural to lose hair every now and then. My hairdresser told me the same thing. They said its natural to lose about 150 hairs a day!

However I wasn't happy, so I went to Holland and Barrett and bought some tablets called ';Hair Food';. Unfortunately I developed an allergic reaction to them and had to attend an emergency doctor for treatment, so I wouldn't recommend those!

It turned out that my doctor was right and my hair eventually stopped falling out when my stress levels reduced.

Best of luck xx
hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few. but anyway you can always try and get real results.

year ago my wife suffered from hair loss too and she started trying everything you can imagine to stop her hair loss. the things that really worked for her was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also used herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for her!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

good luck!
