Most hair loss in women is caused by hormone inbalance. If the hormones are balanced out, does the hair grow back or are the follicles too damaged?Hair loss in women...?
I think that it is inherited ,its in the family , the follicles are damed by inheritanceHair loss in women...?
Erika, it depends on the kind of hair loss but more often than not there will be hair regrowth. For example, if it is hair loss due to giving birth (postpartum alopecia), which is believed to be caused by hormonal changes, the hair will grow back. You can read about hair loss after pregnancy here =%26gt;

Have a nice day Erika.
Research has confirmed the role of zinc has a vital nutrient in the healthy growth of hair. Zinc is an important element in the management of stress when it is mobilized in stress as it is an important constituent of many vital enzymes required for normal body functions.
In terms of hair, nails and skin, it helps in the synthesis of various proteins, which subsequently facilitate growth and maintenance. So any deficiency in the levels of zinc in the body will directly result in impaired growth and damage to these body parts.

Hair loss in women?
Does hrt cause hair loss? I am trying to reduce hrt and my hair is falling out. I decided to increase the dose to where it was orignially to see if it would stop falling out.Hair loss in women?
I am sorry but what is hrt [ I thought that was short for heart ]
Whatever it is { I would go see my doctor }
That is the best I can help you with - without knowing what { hrt is }Hair loss in women?
You're decreasing your estrogen therapy? If you have high testosterone levels, yes women produce testosterone too, you could be having a side effect of decreasing your HRT. More likely you have another problem. Go to your physician to rule out diabetes and high blood pressure, both of which can cause female hair loss. Hormone imbalance - we've discussed - scalp diseases, stress, genetics, the list goes on...

Hair loss in women?
Has anyone used Rogaine for women and does it really work, do you see a big improvement?Hair loss in women?
Rogaine does in fact work but the downside of rogaine is that when you stop using the rogaine the hair that grew back after the rogaine will fall back out. If you really want to see some good results you should try organic root stimulator temple balm or fertilizing serum it really works I have tried it on my self and my clients have tried it alsoHair loss in women?
i knew a woman who had high blood pressure...some of the ingredients that are in rogaine were in the blood pressure medicine she took...anyhow before taking the medicine she was going bald...once she started the medicine she started growing hair.

What causes hair loss in women?
Is it possible for women to suffer from male pattern baldness? What causes hair loss in women?
Stress can cause hair loss in women. I know of a lady who lost her her hair following a nervous breakdown. Poor diet can also contribute. What causes hair loss in women?
Stress, hormonal imbalance, and lack of vitamins. Consult your doctor.
As the others are saying stress which causes hormone imbalance and then thinning of the hair.

Stress --%26gt; Hormone Imbalance --%26gt; ';Health Issue';
Perhaps your source of stress is due to the pill
You may wish to do the on line hormone tests at www.hormoneprofile.com or www.johnleemd.com
If as I suspect they recommend you obtain hormones please have a saliva test done see www.npis.info or www.salivatest.com. A saliva test will check out active hormones something that blood tests do not.
If a hormone is suggested by the saliva test please take the dose suggested. Size 10 shoes are not twice as good if you have size 5 feet.
The WHO (World Health Organisation) uses saliva tests.
A transcript of a John Lee talk http://www.keepsmilin.com/transcriptdrle
I have transcribed John Lee's December 2002 %26amp; %26amp;June 2003 talks
http://uk.geocities.com/willim_walker@bt
Any of these talks explain why for active hormone levels a blood test is worthless. Blood tests find hormones, but they are the ones on their way out of the body. They are not the active hormones.
Search the web for ';natural progesterone hair '; and you will find several pages
e.g.

The most common cause of hair loss is low thyroid function, which is common among menopausal women. Other causes include, but are not limited to the following: changes in hormone levels (a significant decrease or increase), increased testosterone and other androgenic hormones, a change in the balance between estrogen and androgenic hormones, increased stress (physical or emotional), and heredity. Any time sudden hair loss is experienced, one must consider events which took place up to three months prior to the hair loss, as factors affecting hair loss can take up to three months to have an effect. Subsequently, any treatments for hair loss should be given at least three months to have noticeable effects.
This mentions thyroid but I progesterone is the first hormone for a woman to take. This is why it is important that a saliva test is done to confirm the requirement for progesterone or any other hormones.
There is a list of doctors at www.npis.info who are aware of the benefits of natural progesterone they may be more helpful than your GP. Maybe you are about to educate your GP before using the hormones.
In countries other than the UK there are doctors knowledgeable about natural progesterone and other hormones
Natural progesterone means natural to humans i.e. identical to that produced by the human body.
For a good explanation of how vital natural progesterone is to humans see
http://www.hormoneprofile.com/howhormone
and other pages on this site
Wild yam is that Wild Yam the body will not convert it to progesterone. Also do not take fake/synthetic progesterone/progestins manufactured by the drug companies they will be of NO benefit.
After having done a saliva test any progesterone you buy must be natural progesterone USP. USP means United States Pharmacopoeia.

Myths Vs. Facts
Myth: Hair loss is inherited from your father Fact: Both parent's genes are a factor. Androgenetic aplopecia is genetically-linked hair thinning.
Myth: Female pattern hair loss causes abnormal bleeding. Fact: Menstruation is not affected. Hair loss typically begins between the ages of 12 and 40.
Myth: Extensive hormonal evaluation is required. Fact: Hormonal evaluation is only required if the patient is also experiencing irregular periods, infertility, hirsutism, cystic acne, virilization, or glactorrhea. Androgenetic aplopecia usually doesn't cause menstrual issues or interfere with pregnancy or endocrine function.
Myth: Teasing, using hair color, other products, or frequently washing hair increases hair loss. Fact: Normal hair care doesn't affect hair loss. The only drug approved for promoting hair growth in women is Minoxidil.

*** My Success with Natural Techniques To Re-grow Lost Hair
Been on minoxidil ( R0gaine庐 ) for about a year and a half and have not seen even the smallest amount of regrowth that i almost fell into depression.
My hair only started visibly growing on the bald spot after skeptically trying out the various natural techniques to re-grow lost hair @ http://www.regrowmyhair.info
I would highly recommend this easy to follow step-by-step guide with pictures to anyone who is suffering from hair loss right now. But remember this isn't a miracle cure for baldness as you will also need to put in some effort in order to see results. And its only a minimum commitment of 15 minutes a day to help re-grow your lost hair.

Does anyone know what can cause sudden hair loss in women (age 41)? it's coming out 2-3x more than normal. ?
I live in a tropical zone most of the time and recently returned to Midwest USA. Within a week, my hair was falling out a lot. I am getting better nutrition here (am a 20+ year vegetarian but here eating more dairy - organic yogurt, etc. - than usual, plus tons of spinach, etc., so with my nutrition better, I wouldn't think it's vitamin-based). I have been going through all factors related that I changed at the same time (switched shampoo, started a new skin cleanser), stopping their use for 2 weeks to see if there is a change for the better. So far, nothing.
I would appreciate any advice, suggestions, similar stories. Thanks so much!Does anyone know what can cause sudden hair loss in women (age 41)? it's coming out 2-3x more than normal. ?
See your Doctor asap. I can be as simple as a pimple to a very serious thyroid problem. It's not normal for you to lose that much in such a short period of time. Does anyone know what can cause sudden hair loss in women (age 41)? it's coming out 2-3x more than normal. ?
I would visit your doctor. It could be any number of things. from your diet, to stress or a combination of factors. the fact you said it started when you came back to the US leads me to believe it isnt a coincidence. something has changed and has caused your hair loss. good luck
For hair loss you can try this remedy. Mix 1 egg, 2.5 tablespoons milk powder and 1 tablespoon wheat germ oil. Massage on the scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo.

Will taking biotin stop hair loss in women?
Please tell me if there is any solution for women with hair loss. I have been taking hair supplements, extra proteins, vitamins and minerals etc. I have also been using all sorts of oils, massaging scalp regurarly etc. I think I have tried all possible solutions for hair loss but somehow none of them seem to help me with hair loss. I've also seen my GP and he just said that I shouldn't worry about it as my blood test doesn't show anything wrong. Is there anyway I can stop my hair loss. I don't want to use Minoxidil. I was thinking if taking Biotin tablets can stop or reduce hair loss. Please help!!!!!Will taking biotin stop hair loss in women?
yes,but it causes birth defects. there are products at the salon supply stores. at the health food store, there are pills that increase your hormone and thyroid function, those are the most common causes of hair loss,in my case it's thyroid. minoxidil is not bad if you are not pregnant,or going to get pregnant.

Ive been suffering from alopecia for two years now. Ive gone to the doctor and still they have no clue why i keep losing hair. Two years ago it was really bad but since then i have been losing hair and still have some minor bald spots. The bald spots are not visible unless I comb my hair a certain way. I always have to keep the same hairstyle. Before I started losing hair, I had a lot of volume. Since I have a lot of volume, the hair I do have seems full but clearly its not. I really want to get rid of the bald spots and ive been using nioxin, taking vitamins, and occasionally use i think rogaine or something similar, but thats very rarely. Regular hair loss in women?
for almost two decades my aunt has been getting bald patches in her hair. Theyre not very big, but there are always about 2-3 at the same time, and it really bothers her. She says it happened ever since she moved to England (before she had nice, average long hair). Now she cant grow her hair longer than shoulder-length as its become very sparse and fine- and bcos of the patches. She blames the climate and partially stress, but both she and i are puzzled as to how this would have persisted for so long? my aunt is stressed a lot, but she is a happy a lot too. doctors couldnt help, and she tries to eat as healthily as she can. the patches have never disappeared completely at a time as far as i know. Can anybody name this condition, or recommend something that might work? any helpful comments would be appreciated, but please do not make fun or drop stupid comments. thank youRegular hair loss in women?
The general term for hair loss (for both men and women) is alopecia. When that hair loss is patchy, it *may* be a type of alopecia called ';alopecia areata.'; Doctors aren't entirely sure of the exact cause but it seems to be an autoimmune problem (white blood cells attack the hair follicles, causing them to get thinner and weaker). Often, such hair loss comes along with other autoimmune problems such as lupus, asthma or diabetes. It can be triggered by stress, environment or a virus in the first place but then keep coming.
Your aunt may want to talk to her doctor about this possibility if she hasn't already, and possibly see an immunology specialist. There are treatments for the problem, but nothing that she should take without prior medical advice.beauty secrets

Hair Loss in Women?
I'm 30 yrs old and my hair is thinning and is very brittle. Could this be a hormonal imbalance? Which doctor should I consult?Hair Loss in Women?
Take care not to use Shampoos which contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate or simply SLS. This substance is found in most shampoos and the manufactures use it because it produces a lot of foam and it is cheap. But the fact is that SLS is used to scrub garage floors, and it is very strong. It is also proven that it can cause cancer in the long run, and this is no joke. Some of them which do not use SLS are (Vidal Sassoon), it doesn't contain it; however, others such as Vo5, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, the new Hemp shampoo, Pantene Pro-V, etc., contains this substance.
You can treat your hair the Natural Way.
Falling of Hair: Loss of hair at a very tender age has become a common disorder these days. It causes a great deal of concern to persons affected by loss of hair, especially Indian women who regard good hair growth with thick long hair as a sign of beauty. Hair is formed in minute pockets in the skin, called follicles. An up growth at the base of the folic, called the papilla, actually produces hair; when a special group of cells turn amino acids into keratin, a type of protein of which hair is made. The rate of production of these proteins '; building blocks,'; determines hair growth. The average growth rate is about 1.2 cm per month, growing faster on women between the ages 15 and 30.
Causes: The most important cause of loss of hair is inadequate nutrition. Even a partial lack of almost any nutrient may cause hair to fall. Persons lacking vitamin B6 lose their hair and those deficient in folic acid often become completely bald. But the hair grows normally after the liberal intake of these vitamins. Another important cause of falling of hair is stress such as worry, anxiety, and sudden shock. Stress leads to a severe tension in the skin of the scalp. This adversely affects the supply of essential nutrition required for the healthy growth of the hair. General debility, syphilis, chronic cold, influenza, and anemia, also gives rise to this disorder. It makes the roots of the hair weak, resulting in the falling of hair. Unclean condition of the scalp can also cause loss of hair. It weakens the hair roots by blocking the pores with the collected dirt. Heredity is another predisposing factor which may cause hair to fall.
Treatment: The healthy condition of the hair depends, to a very large extent, on the intake of sufficient amounts of essential nutrients in the daily diet. Hair is made of protein and adequate protein is necessary for luxuriant hair. Women require 60 grams, men 80 to 90, adolescent boys and girls 80 to 100 grams of protein. It is supplied by milk, buttermilk, yogurt, soyabean, eggs, cheese, meat, and fish. A lack of vitamin A may cause the hair to be coarse and ugly. A deficiency of some of the B vitamins, of iron, copper, and iodine may cause hair disorders like falling of hair and premature greying.
Lack of inositol causes loss of hair. Any person having trouble with his or her hair should eat foods rich in inositol such as yeast, liver and molasses. Research has, however, shown that women have a low requirement of inositol. Although this vitamin may help to stimulate the growth of a woman鈥檚 hair, its lack is probably not a major cause of slow growth. Women are generally deficient in iodine and vitamin B1, either of which can slow down circulation to the scalp to such an extent that hair may fall out and new hair grow in very slowly. Women who keep their diets adequate in iodine, the B vitamins and iron have a better growth of hair. According to Adelle Davis, a world famous nutritionist, ';increasing the intake of protein, particularly of liver, wheat germ, and yeast, and supplementing the diet with a teaspoon of inositol daily usually stops a man鈥檚 hair from falling, and I have seen three or four persons whose hair became thick after these improvements were made.'; Persons with a tendency to lose hair should thus take a well-balanced and correct diet, made up of foods which in combination should supply all the essential nutrients. It has been found that a diet which contains liberal quantities of (i) seeds, nuts, and grains, (ii) vegetables and (iii) fruits would provide adequate amounts of all the essential nutrients. Each food group should roughly form the bulk of one of the three principal meals. These foods should, however, be supplemented with certain special foods such as milk, vegetable oils, honey, wheat germ, yeast, and liver.
Home Remedies: Several home remedies have been found useful in the prevention and treatment of the loss of the hair. The most effective among these remedies is a vigorous rubbing of the scalp with fingers after washing the hair with cold water. The scalp should be rubbed vigorously till it starts to tingle with the heat. It will activate the sebaceous glands and energies the circulation of blood in the affected area, making the hair grow healthy.
Amla oil, prepared by boiling dry pieces of amla in coconut oil, is considered a valuable hair tonic for enriching hair growth. A mixture of equal quantity of fresh amla juice and lime juice used as a shampoo stimulates hair growth and prevents hair loss.
Lettuce (salad-ka-patta) is useful in preventing hair loss through deficiencies. A mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is said to help the growth of hair if it is drunk to the extent of half a litre a day. The juice of alfalfa (lecerne) in combination with carrot and lettuce juice, taken daily also helps the growth of hair to a remarkable extent. The combination of these juices is rich in elements which are particularly useful for the growth of hair. While preparing alfalfa juice, the leaves of the plant only may be used when it can be obtained fresh.
Daily application of refined coconut oil mixed with limewater and lime juice on the hair, prevents loss of hair and lengthens them. Application of the juice of green coriander leaves on the head is also considered beneficial. Amaranth, known as chaulai-ka-saag in the vernacular, is another valuable remedy. Application of its fresh leaf-juice helps the growth of the hair and keeps them soft.
Mustard oil, boiled with henna leaves, is useful in healthy growth of hair. About 250 grams of mustard oil should be boiled in tinned basin. A little quantity of henna leaves should be gradually put in this oil till about 60 grams of these leaves are thus burnt in the oil. The oil should then be filtered through a cloth and stored well in a bottle. A regular massage of the head with this oil will produce abundant hair.
Another effective home remedy for loss of hair is the application of coconut milk all over the scalp and massaging it into the hair loss. It will nourish the hair and promote hair growth. The coconut milk is prepared by grinding the coconut shavings and squeezing it well. Washing the hair with a paste of cooked black gram dal, (urad dal), and fenugreek (methi) lengthens the hair. A fine paste made from pigeon pea or red gram (arhar dal ) can also be applied regularly with beneficial results on bald patches. Regular use of castor oil as hair oil helps the luxuriant growth of the hair.
Certain home remedies have also been found useful in case of patchy loss of hair. The seeds of lime and black pepper seeds, ground to get a fine paste, is one of the valuable remedies. This paste applied on the patches, has mildly irritant action. This increases blood circulation in the affected area and stimulates hair growth. The paste should be applied twice a day for a few weeks.
Another useful remedy for patchy loss of hair is the paste of liquorice (mulethi) made by grinding the pieces in milk with a pinch of saffron. This paste should be applied over the bald patches in the night before going to bed.

It could be due to several factors. Hormones, stress, diet, genetics.
Have a chat with your GP first, who can refer you to other professionals should you require further treatment.
Thin hair is a sign for hair loss. You should stop this hair loss process as soon as possible before its too late. use a hair loss stopper like provillus. Yes it is possible that it can be a hormonal imbalance.

I'm 42 and when I was 29 I was diagnosed with
a thyroid disease.
The symptoms were as follows: dry brittle hair that got very thin, weight gain,
extreme fatigue and I was always cold (to the point of sleeping in my car with the windows rolled up in 100 degree weather).
I feel much better most of the time now although I still have some days of fatigue but the meds made a world of difference.
ps: my regular HMO Dr. did the tests needed to find out about my thyroid.
It could be nothing or it could be something that needs treatment. You should see your family doctor. If it's not something obvious you will get a referral to a specialist.
I wonder if any doctor on earth can provide a real cure for the problem you have mentioned which is a common phenomenon!
alopecia, go to a skin doctor.

Hair loss in women I need help! Please?
Hi,
I'm 24 and I've always had a thin widows peak type of thing with my hair line and just recently I've noticed that it's getting worse. It's scaring me! Now, I'm on birth control, but for a good couple of months I haven't been taking it consistently, could this cause hair thinning?
Also I've gone Pescatarian and I don't know if maybe that could be making my hair thin due to not enough vitamins?
And lastly, I've always been a stressed out person, but for the last couple of months I've been a little extra stressed.
Could all of these be possibilities of my hair loss? And if so and if you have experienced any of this... Did it grow back for you? Or do you think it would? I'm thinking about buying Rogaine for Women.
Any feed back would help,
Thank you!Hair loss in women I need help! Please?

Hair loss in women...bald spots....?
I'm 19 years old and started losing my hair about a year ago. I can't afford to go see a doctor, and I'm not sure what is causing my hair to fall out. I have a handful of hair fall out in the shower plus more throughout the day. I probably have about 4 or more bald spots(penny to quarter size). I just had a baby 3 months ago, I was balding before that, and it was worse when I was pregnant, but I am still losing hair and finding new bald spots every time I turn around.
What I'm asking is what do you think could be the cause? And if you recomend any kind of shampoo or vitamins or anything to help my hair grow back. I used to have the thickest long hair, I loved it and am very depressed with having to wear my hair in a certain way all the time. I just want my hair back, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou so much.
I'm not on birth control, and I do have eczama and asthma. I smoke, have been smoking since I was 15. Not under any paticular stress...Hair loss in women...bald spots....?
A hormone imbalance could be causing this but the only way to find out for sure is to see a doctor for further evaluation. Because of your financial situation I would recommend checking with the city health dept to see if they offer a free clinic that might be able to help. If not, check to see if there's a Medical School close by that might be able to help.

Hair loss in women? Help!!!?
I dont know if it is my imagination or not but there is a little , very tiny spot kind of on the front of my head. I had my parents check it and they said that it looks fine, my dad said that he sees no hair shaft in the little spot, he thinks that maybe its just the way my hair grows. And my mom was washing my hair yesterday and would have noticed something. I was the one that noticed this spot today and was wondering if it was ringworm, but the spot is very tiny that people cant even notice it. My parents think it looks normal, but I have never noticed the spot before, My mom says if anythiing, it could be a minor case of ringworm which is easily treatable, or a hormonal imbalance, which can be easily fixed by birth control pills, they think I am overreacting. I dont know what it could be, since when I put my hand through my hair no hair falls off, and I dont find nor comb out gobs of hair clumps, so no hair is falling out, but its this one little tiny spot that is bugging me, I have another tiny spot like that in the front of my head with no hair shafts that has always been on my head since I was born, but this new one i have never noticed, could I be overracting? Or not have seen it before? Help!Hair loss in women? Help!!!?

actually I've been having a similar problem for about 6 months, i think my hair is either falling out or thinning out, it probably is stress but i'm not sure. so i made a dr's appointment. that is all you can do because stressing does not help. Good luck SEE YOUR DOCTOR.
You are overreacting
Unless and until the spot is tender and painful or heavy hair fall is noted; just take it lightly.
May be, u've no work/activity to keep urself busy. an empty brains makes a Devil's workshop.

Hair Loss in women?
Does anyone know what causes hair loss in a woman who medical tests are all healthy.Hair Loss in women?
stress, no a proper diet. I have chemo pateints on this: it helps theri hair to stop breaking. watch the video
I think you should check out www.biolustreflorida.com
I just went to their launch party and had my hair done, free as a demo. Its amazing, my hair was breaking off and flying away. I will always always buy this stuff. Its awesome, I saw a difference as soon as she rinsed my hair. I have no damage anymore, its unbelievable! No more split-ends, its like my hair is NEW! I love it!

Make sure you watch their video on the site, its amazing. Lady changes her hair color 3 itmes in 30 minutes with NO DAMAGEHair Loss in women?
Genetics, diet (lack of certain vitamins and minerals), environmental factors and in some sources it's even gone so far as to say smoking and caffeine can effect it.
genetics, stress , poor diet it could be a number of things. do you colour your hair? if so try not to colour it for as long as you can (i no its hard but worth it) have trim every 6weeks and buy a good thicking shampoo. by the way hair is made of protein so its a good idear to get more high protein foods in your diet like eggs, meat, beans, nuts give it a try :)
genetics
well, I think it is because of your diet. Do not eat salty food or instant noodles. stress or did not sleep well will also cause your hair to drop. or even if you having scalp problem or oily scrap like dranduff. Try to use less oily shampoo. and only appy hair conditioner on the tips of the hair and not to the hair scalp since you should be having oily scalp. Try washing your hair everyday or alternate day. Do not leave it for more than 2 days and once the scalp oily, hair will drop easily. Do not use too hot water to wash your hair. The pore will open and more hair will drop. use warm water first and after shampoo use cold water to rinse to close the pores. Wish you good luck!
Stress can cause hair loss--and if you fast for long periods of time that can too.
well it could be genetics but it could also be over alot of different things like stress
For women main reason should be iron deficiency. Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

Things that help hair loss in women?
my hair has been thinning lately %26amp; i am starting to get worried (let me add that i just turned 29 so i dont think this should be happening yet or at all ) i am starting pregnent ladt vitamins cause i heard they help ...................any other suggestions PLEASE!!!!Things that help hair loss in women?
I went thru a $1600 hair regrowth program and this is what I found:
DHT is the hormone that causes hair loss
Minoxidil 2% for women, applied as directed DOES stop a lot of the hair loss, but it's very labor intensive to keep up with
Biotin is a natural vitamin that helps with hair (and nail) growth; try 2500 mcg or mg (don't know how it is marketed)
Natural 100% boar bristle brushes help alleviate breakage of hair
Turn to natural shampoos %26amp; conditioners; regular off-the-shelf shampoos and conditioners build up on the scalp %26amp; hair shaft and tend to ';suffocate'; the skin's ability to ';breathe';
The item that helped the most %26amp; is the easiest (other than washing %26amp; vitamins) to keep up with is using a low-reading/level laser comb. It's very expensive, but is attainable. The machine I ';rented'; for my hair treatment cost the owners $50k (so they claimed), but the laser comb can be purchased directly from the company or thru eBay. I purchased the Forest Spencer (Spencer Forest?) brand for $600. It truely does the trick. I am 48 yrs old, and have been doing this hair treatment since October 2002. Another by-product of the lasercomb is that the hair will become incredibly silky, your scalp will feel like you have had it massaged (very stimulated and ';alive'; feeling), and seems to have an increased moisture content in the shaft (doesn't feel dried out - but cool %26amp; smooth to the touch).
I believe it's never too soon to take care of health issues, so check into what I've offered in information. Good luck!

a man who would love her if she was bald
well i think you should get some of that sulfer 8 hair grease i works i use to be bald head now my hair down my back or you can get some do-grow
Go to your Doctor and ask about ';Propecia';.
Do not use hair color if you do. Vitamin B complex is helpful, Calcium is very important. Putting your hair in a ponytail will make it fall out. Watch out for prescription drugs and ask your Pharmacist
I was loosing a lot of hair and it turned out I had a low thyroid.
first of all don't automedicate.... causes.... stress... dryness.. hormones... go see a doc.

Unless you were trying to make a fashion statement think David Beckham or Sinead O'Connor you probably wouldn't be too pleased with hair loss. In Western society, hair loss especially male pattern hair loss is fodder for jokes, unless the hair loss is a result of chemotherapy or other medical treatments. If you're suffering from situational baldness or male/female pattern baldness, you may laugh about it among your friends. Chances are, however, that you're crying about it in privacy. But by no means are you alone. Fortunately, there are many natural remedies to relieve hair loss and the personal embarrassment that results from it.
We can blame the typical American diet for yet another unfavorable thing: Hair loss. American's high-fat, high-animal protein and high-salt diet damages the kidneys and creates acidic blood, thereby leading to hair loss, according to Paul Pitchford's Healing with Whole Foods and Janet Zand's, Allan N. Spreen's and James B. LaValle's Smart Medicine for Healthier Living. The typical American diet is also usually low in vitamins. This lifestyle leads to vitamin deficiency, which is another cause of hair loss. And thanks to the globalization of fast food chains and the American diet, we're exporting hair loss overseas.
If your diet is relatively healthy, you may have to scrutinize other potential causes and use the process of elimination to determine the cause of your hair loss. For example, do you dye your hair or treat it with other chemicals? According to Bill Gottlieb's Alternative Cures, these treatments may be thinning your hair. Similarly, have you been experiencing a lot of stress in your life? Stress may literally be making you pull your hair out.
If you're a woman: Are you pregnant, menopausal or on birth control pills? These are three big factors in female hair loss. Hormone imbalance is arguably the most common cause of hair loss in females. Pregnancy, menopause and sometimes birth control pills can create hormone shifts, according to The Doctor's Book of Home Remedies for Women. In fact, according to Dr. Neal Barnard's Eat Right, Live Longer, ';Childbirth almost always causes some degree of temporary hair loss, sometimes occurring after a delay of a few monthsIn other animals, this has a useful function; rabbits, for example, line their nests with shed hairs. Humans have less use for it.'; So unless you're intent on finding new ways to decorate your baby's room, you're just going to have to wait out the temporary hair loss. Excessive dieting also causes hormone shifts. Hair loss is thus one of the major symptoms of anorexia and bulimia.
Hair loss doesn't have to be controlled entirely by genetics
If your hair loss is caused by a controllable factor, such as using chemical hair dyes, then by all means, change your behavior. Take vitamin supplements, stop dying your hair, change your shampoo or choose a different method of birth control. On the other hand, hair loss could also be genetic. No, you can't alter your genes yet. But you can rely on natural medicines to help counteract an inherited hair loss trait. Vitamin E, Golden Maidenhair (found in a tea shampoo), red sage extracts (also found in some shampoos) and formulas that mix turmeric with horsetail or oat straw are all found to prevent or slow the process of hair loss. Additionally, eating a diet high in fruits and vegetables and low in starch may slow down the hair loss process, according to Arthur C. Upton in Staying Healthy in a Risky Environment.
The average human sheds between 50 and 100 hair strands every day. If you're shedding more than that, you don't have to accept it as a burden you must bear. A little lifestyle change goes a long way to stop hair loss. If your parents or grandparents exhibit hair loss, you're not doomed, but you do have an even greater need to watch your diet and use herbal remedies. If you do start losing your hair, however, handling it well can make all the difference between hair loss becoming a source of embarrassment or a fashion statement.
Turn to natural shampoos %26amp; conditioners; regular off-the-shelf shampoos and conditioners build up on the scalp %26amp; hair shaft and tend to ';suffocate'; the skin's ability to ';breathe';
Good luck!

Hair loss in women?
I have this scalp condition and my doctor says that my hair may never grow back because my scalp is scarred or something like that. Is she right or is there ANYTHING i can do to at least get some of the hair growing back? My doc also recommended rogaine but my mom doesn't want me using it because supposedly, rogaine makes some people grow hair in other laces besides their heads..plz help!Hair loss in women?
I was recommended a drug called Sulfer plex its at gnc stores it is an OTC it helps you hair and nails grow, The pills are nasty tasting but it helped me regrow the hair I lost.Hair loss in women?
You need to find out everything you can about Rogaine or some of the other medications out there and ask her to reconsider.
I do not recommend that you go against her wishes and use it. This is a discussion you need to have with her and a dermatologist.

What causes hair loss in women. am scared i may develop a bald head. am slowing losing a bit of my hair.?
Stress can be a major cause of hairloss in females and so you need to identify areas of stress in your life and sort them out.
A good diet and plenty of water to drink will help flush toxins out of your blood stream and aid the body to heal itself.
I would suggest going to your GP and getting some blood tests done as well. This will help to pinpoint anything that may be physically wrong. What causes hair loss in women. am scared i may develop a bald head. am slowing losing a bit of my hair.?
Lots of things can cause hair loss: Vitamin deficiency, too much vitamin A, stress, alopecia, fungal infection, hormone imbalance, hyperthyroidism etc etc etc.
You really should talk to your doctor about it!What causes hair loss in women. am scared i may develop a bald head. am slowing losing a bit of my hair.?
Hi Kaby
I'd suggest going to the following website:
www.regrowth.com
It's a great site and will give you very open, non-commercial information on the reasons for hair loss as well as the treatments available to you.
There is also a seperate site that is pretty good for online purchases of various products:
www.hair2go.com
One of my staff members is suffering from the same problem. As I also did.
Please feel free to drop me an email if you'd like any other detail. I'd be happy to help you wherever I can.
andyblank@yahoo.com
you may even just have a hormone imbalance go and have a blood test done and talk to your doc.
STRESS!!!
Have your Thyroid checked! That was one of the symptoms I had.
* Stress
* It might run in the family
it sounds like alopecia areata. it is a hair losing problem usually from stress. if you are losing almost quarter size on your head. go to a demotologist to make sure. there are remedys for this problem .
Lots of reasons but it could be stress related, diet, etc.. or if breast feeding your hair can receed like a man but will eventually grow back, if in doubt contact your G.P
Vitamin deficiences such as iron deficiency can cause hair loss, so get yourself checked out. Also stress can be a major factor, or if you have recently suffered from an illness this can cause hair loss. Try not to worry about it if you can but go %26amp; see your doctor %26amp; improve your diet straight away. Eat plenty of fresh fruit %26amp; vegetables, meat %26amp; oily fish - organic if possible. Try to avoid processed foods, excessive sugar %26amp; refined flour %26amp; other junk food whenever possible as they are not beneficial for health. I hope you manage to solve your problem.
female pattern hair loss may be due to menopause or iron deficiency. it could also be a genetic disposition (if other members of ur family have it). alopecia can also be an auto-immunological abnormality.
some illness like psoriasis also cause hair loss or excess treatment with bleach or hair colour.
u must just take some vitamins or use some protein-rich hair care.
topical vasodilators are also available on prescription.
are you stressed out you may have the start of alopecia its where u have hair loss due to stress,go to the dr they can prescribe something and hopefully wont get to bad....
There can be a no.of reasons for hair loss in women.
Eg. stress, hormonal imbalance, some disease.
It an also be just seasonal, for no reason at all and temporary/reversible.
U need to monitor it for a few days. Normal hair loss in healthy ppl is 100/day. so maybe its normal afterall. Hair keeps growing and compensates for the normal daily hair loss. It may seem a lot to u but might be normal.
U need to look into this and if really feel the need, see a good dermatologist.
Good luck!

Hair loss can be due to anxiety, temporary illness or use of harm full hair products. if you haven't under gone any of these things you should go to a doctor and get your body checked, it could be symptoms of something else.
There are several factors that our hair could lose. Like thyroid and stress this will lead to a poor blood circulation. If your scalp is tight your pores is closed so the hair cannot breath and that cause your hair to fall out.
I would go to the doctors and let them know, because most hair loss in women is caused by stress, however as someone has mentioned it could be down to your thyroid.
Dont put it off go see a doc, so you can get it sorted as soon as, so you dont have to worry more about bald patches beacue the more you stress out about going bald the higher your stress levels will be, so its a viscious cycle.
