Help I'm a 38 yr old female with hair loss?

I have never had thick full hair but lately it seems my hair is thinning. I part my hair down the middle and this is where I notice it the most. I don't notice it falling out and there is not big bald spots just thinning along the part on top of my head. What could be causing this and what can I do to prevent this from getting worse??Help I'm a 38 yr old female with hair loss?
Hi Sarah :)

The main causes of hair loss are:

- Hereditary hair loss (Your family may have a history of balding)

- Hormonal imbalances (e.g. after child birth)

- Medication or Treatment for certain diseases(e.g. Chemotherapy or Radiology)

- Stress

Some natural herbs are used for centuries to effectively stop the falling strands problem and to promote healthy growth. Here are some examples of the common botanicals:

Horsetail Silica

Horsetail is a descendant of huge, tree-like plants around a few hundred million years ago. It is a a non-flowering, fern-like plant. The leaves and the stem can be used and some herbalists have used it to cure the condition.

Saw Palmetto

It is also known as Serenoa repens. It was used as a tonic and a cure for prostate related diseases. It was believed to have 5-δΌͺ-reductase inhibitory activity (thereby preventing the production of DHT which is the main cause of male pattern baldness.

Pumpkin Seed

It is known to possess the properties to promote great lustrous hair.

Nettle root

It is a generic name for the flowering plants of the genus Urtica. The most common one is the stingling nettle, which can be found in Asia, North America and Europe. It is part of the ingredients in the preparation of an effective hair tonic for centuries and is known to help to prevent hair fall and promote growth.

I hope this help in something.

Have a nice day SarahHelp I'm a 38 yr old female with hair loss?
year ago I suffered very much from hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also I used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.info/why.php

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

good luck!

not only my and my husband`s own personal experience

Use warm coconut oil overnight once a week and get a mild good make of shampoo and conditioner to start with not just anything. You may be lacking in certain vitamins, so check your diet that you are getting a good variety of fruit, veges, protein etc. And take a multivitimin with all the minerals. Get some sunshine - too. Often stress can also cause hair thinning too so look into that if you are stressed.
Are you gaining weight, feeling more tired, or feeling a bit depressed? If so, you could be suffering from hypothyroidism. Check it out.
Two egg white mixed with two tablespoon of yogurt can be applied for 30 minutes and then washed,when done at least once a week prevents hair loss . Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
Get your thyroid checked out! It may be over-active or in-active.
