Polysistic ovary syndrome hair loss solution?

The only thing I have tried is Spirnolactone but this pill just seemed to make my hair thin even more! I am trying fish oil and hair, skin %26amp; nail pills to see how that works before I resort to using expensive Rogaine. I have found this shampoo (Dr. Varon's Therapeutic Shampoo ..http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=169499%26amp;catid=10349) and wondering if anyone has tried it with success?

If anyone has any other tips or tricks please let me know! thanks :)Polysistic ovary syndrome hair loss solution?
I'm one of the lucky women with PCOS that doesn't have the hair loss (just the extra stuff!) but I know may women from my support group that do share your problem.

First - are you taking the Spiro/Aldactone because of excess hair in other places? If not - it will continue to thin out your hair a bit.

Second - have you talked to your Dr about Glucophage/metformin? It's a diabetes med that helps resolve a lot of the symptoms (PCOS is an endocrine disorder based on the body's inability to properly use insulin for those who may not know).

The medication will regulate your insulin levels, which will cut down the amount of free-range testosterone in your body and should slow down or halt the hair loss you're experiencing.

If you're not yet seeing an endocrinologist or reproductive endocrinologist, I would highly recommend it.

Good luck!Polysistic ovary syndrome hair loss solution?
It seems its working. Ive been using it for some time now and my hair had become thicker. I use rogaine foam as well with only half of suggested amount and Im seeing the effect which cuts cost in half and no side-effects.
