some of the fur seems to be coming out in clumps not just normal
shedding. any ideas why? FOOD AND CARE HAS ALL REMAINED THE SAME.My 1 yr old rabbit has just begun excessive shedding %26amp; hair loss?
Sounds like your rabbit is molting.
This website will explain it to you.My 1 yr old rabbit has just begun excessive shedding %26amp; hair loss?
My rabbit sheds just like that, a lot of fur will come out in one area at a time don't worry it's completely normal,
Worms and weather changes. Worms cause the fur to loosen and come off. Get him wormed.
This is a tough one. It could be something fungal causing it, it could also be stress. What does the skin look like below the fur...if you see any redness, you should take bunny to the vet. This is a very common time of year for all kinds of skin infections in bunnies. The vet would be the best source of information.
I don't think too many people on the answer circut (except for maybe some breeders) are truly qualified to answer this question, i suggest a vet.
Has it been with another rabbit. It sounds like it is making a nest for babies. They'll pull there hair out and make a nest.Other than that I don't know
It's that wonderful time of year for the winter coat coming in. If your rabbit is going bald then you should be concerned. If you have a female and she is pulling fur off her stomach alone she might be pregnant or have a false pregnancy. http://www.rabbit.org
Check for any sign of disease:scars, pests(fleas-you can tell if they scratch very often) or sneezing.
If not, the rabbit has just begun to go to breed or help breed a litter. Email me for any more info.
my rabbit does the same thing..twice a year. once in the spring and once in the fall. its normal. just besure to keep brushing him/her to get all the fur off
Sometimes they just do that. As long as it isn't bald or bleeding it should be ok. Is it male or female?
